The Forget Me Not Flower has a much deeper meaning for me than most think. Our business name has nothing to do with the Alaska State Flower. It is actually just an amazing coincidence that these two coincide.
Ever since I got into the natural health and alternative healing world, it felt like home to me. There was something about it that seemed so familiar to me. Like I was just remembering something instead of learning something. I recognized that my ability to do healing work and ultimately to become a healer had nothing to do with myself. I believe it was something that I was taught by some divine being, who had a much higher understanding of truth and light than I do, before I ever got to this earth. I feel like the gifts I have to heal is something that I was given because that is what God created me to do and has nothing to do with my own personal skill or ability. It all comes from God and through the light and love of Christ.
I believe there is power in words and that names hold power as well. So when I was trying to figure out what to name my business, I spent a lot of time praying, pondering, and meditating over it. Ultimately, I felt like this was God’s business and I wanted something that reflected that, even if I was the only one that knew or understood it.
One day I serendipitously came across an old German fable that said, “After God had finished naming all of his creations, one tiny unnamed flower who had been overlooked cried out, ‘Forget me not, O Lord!’ God lovingly replied, ‘That shall by your name.’
I then knew then what I was going to name my business. Anytime I would hear or see the little blue forget me not flower, it would be a reminder to me of where my gifts came from and why I do what I do. Because I love God and Christ and I am forever grateful that they love me enough to bless me with something that allows me to help, support, love, and heal people in a very deep and personal way that I would not get to experience in any other way.
Forget Me Not is a reminder of me to never forget my creator and my purpose.
